A systematic review of published research on teaching autistic individuals to prevent and respond to emergency situations (e.g., abduction, fire, natural disasters), screened from over 7,300 records down to 40 included studies following PRISMA guidelines. It identifies evidence-based teaching strategies, such as Behaviour Skills Training, and highlights gaps in current practice that inform the design of the eVeR safe training curriculum.

Universal Advisory Board Report
This report documents focus groups held with autistic individuals, caregivers, and professionals in Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, and Bulgaria to gather first-hand experiences and priorities around emergency preparedness. It captures the specific emergencies each group has faced (e.g., earthquakes, power outages, fires, break-ins) and their preferred learning methods, directly shaping which scenarios and teaching approaches are included in the eVeR safe curriculum.

eVeR Safe Training Curriculum
An EQF Level 5 training curriculum developed by Cyprus Certification Company and the University of Galway to equip professionals (psychologists, social workers, and other practitioners) with the skills to deliver Virtual Reality–based emergency response training to autistic adults. It covers modules on autistic individuals' profiles, emotional regulation, teaching methodologies, and VR tools, alongside specific emergency scenarios such as power outages, elevators, fires, break-ins, extreme weather, and stranger encounters.
