The project
eVeR safe is addressing safety skills for autistic persons requiring support or substantial support (levels 1 or 2 according to DSM5). Considering the current lack of safety educational programs tailored to needs of autistic persons, the project develops a software system, attractive to young adults, which will leverage the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to help them deal with emergency situations which can occur in everyday life. Through VR, autistic people will face conditions that are outside of their typical daily routine, and they will learn the procedures that they will have to follow in order to control the unexpected situation and cope with it safely.
